OBX 2011

What's the best thing about going to a family-friendly wedding? When it includes a week in the Outer Banks with family and friends-- it's a sure hit! Okay, so it wasn't a full week... but five days of sun, fun, and sand was plenty to recharge our batteries and celebrate the wedding of two old friends!

We shared a house with some friends, and Lucy and Steven were pretty much attached at the hip the whole time. Whether running laps around the 3rd floor at 7:30am, hunting for seashells on the beach, or having a snack together-- they were like peas and carrots.

Having a little snackage...

Brushing up on some dance moves.

Pretending this sand castle was ours.

The sugar cookies we made (and ate for breakfast).

Lucy pretending to be Baby Mollie...

The day of the wedding was beautiful-- sunny and warm with a light breeze, and everyone looked great. The kiddos were even clean (for a while) and later on Lucy cut a rug with the grown-ups at the party.

And then Lucy had the nerve to go and have a birthday our last day there. Now she is a big three year-old! We kept telling her that on Saturday she would be three, over and over again. And then Sunday morning she woke up and said, "Mommy, am I still three?" Too funny! We had a little mini-party with balloons, a few presents, and a pink cake that we made ourselves.
....and what party is complete without a game of "shufflebaby?!?!?"
